The Legend
The Encounter
It was a cold winter day in Norway when 12-year-old Hans Jørgen Olsen and his younger sister were walking through the forest near their home. Without warning, an aggressive moose appeared and charged directly at his sister.
The Taunt
Drawing upon his extensive experience playing a Hunter class in World of Warcraft, Hans knew exactly what to do. Like a skilled tank pulling aggro from a raid boss, he positioned himself between his sister and the beast, shouting and waving his arms to draw the moose's attention away from her.
Feign Death
With the moose now charging at him, Hans executed the move that would save his life — the Hunter ability "Feign Death" learned at level 30. He collapsed to the ground, playing completely dead. The confused moose, seeing no movement, lost interest and wandered away. Both children escaped unharmed.
"Just like you learn at level 30 in WoW — you don't learn it until level 30, so I was lucky I had played enough to know it."
— Hans Jørgen Olsen
The Aftermath
Hans's quick thinking made international headlines, proving that video games can teach valuable real-world skills. His story became legendary in the gaming community, showcasing the unexpected ways gaming can prepare us for life's challenges. Now 29 years old and still gaming as "DarkSatan", we honor this true hero with $HANS.
